Port of Tampa to MCO

Our large group is cruising the Miracle out of Tampa :D and most are flying in and out of TPA. However, there are a few that are planning to fly into MCO, rent a car, go to Universal, and then drive to Tampa droping their cars there before the cruise. Then after the cruise, they want to return to MCO and fly out of there. (Seems like a LOT of trouble to me, but it's what they want to do  ). Does anyone know of any Town Car or Shuttle services that run between Tampa and MCO? What would be the best plan for doing this?

Any insight would be appreciated.

That's a good hour to hour 1/2 ride from Orlando to Tampa depending on the traffic. If your group is large enough you might consider chartering a bus. All the major car rental companies operate out of Tampa. Have you called any of them to see what the cost would be to rent a large car or van?

Contact the rental agency and maybe they have connections with some local shuttle companies. It's not going to be cheap because it's a good 80 miles to the airport from the cruiseport. If all else fails, they can just rent several minivans for a one way trip.

Kath....you might want to try Mears Transportation in Orlando. They have everything from Town cars, to Limos to mini busses and large busses. They may also be able to tell you how to get back from Tampa to MCO.

The drive from MCO to Tampa is never any fun...only one major 2 lane interstate with gobs of traffic. Allow at least 2 hours in case of getting lost, which we did when we got in Tampa and into the little side streets leading to the port.
