Master - QE2 - 16th June

Anyone found out who the master is on this cruise (Land of the Midnight Sun)?

Captain David Perkins had just joined in May, so I'd think that there's a good chance he'll still be there in June.

We were hoping for Capt. Bates.

I am on QE2 for the 3 week Sep/Oct US Crossing & Canada cruise and having checked with Cunard Captain David Perkins will be onboard for this cruise, so I guess he will be onboard from now at least up until then.

What's he like?

 

We were hoping for Capt. Bates.

 

A master of the QE2 called Bates would have a certain je ne sais quoi! Although as I've never met him I don't know what he'd be like as a captain. Capt Perkins is pleasant enough. He's quite an amusing speaker - his addresses are interesting, worth listening to. He appears able to steer the ship (at least he hasn't sunk it yet!). There isn't a lot else I can say about him.
