CanuckCruizer Posted June 12, 2006 #26 Share Posted June 12, 2006 Sally - Unbelievable - cigars but no cigarettes - that's when you would have had to restrain me physically - ha ha. It really is no laughing matter. I feel sorry for you - 20 days of hell. I hope your next cruise is fantastic to make up for it!! Canuck
PADutchman Posted June 12, 2006 #27 Share Posted June 12, 2006 10,000 posts about smokeing, I love how different people like to P and M about it. All ships have areas to smoke, last ship the smokeing side at the pool is where everybody was , the other side was half empty. Since 1995 its been the same as it is now. Non smokers still don't know where to go.
Guest cvbart Posted June 12, 2006 #28 Share Posted June 12, 2006 I was on the Radiance for the Hawai cruse and the Pacific coastal, 20 days. The Schooner bar is NON SMOKING. So is the Sky Bar and the Pool bar. There are a few seats at the colonly club for smoking, 6 seats at the Sports bar and a few tables and the bar in the Starquest. The casino allows smoking but we could never find any ash trays. The crew said this just happened (mentioned the NCL Star fire). The Schooner Bar on the Radiance has been non smoking for over a year. It was a somewhat older crowd. One other thing, I lit a cigarette in the cabin one morning, it was cold and windy on the balcony, and the smoke detector went off. It was a big to-do and they weren't happy I was smoking in the cabin. Thanks for the heads up on the Radiance. I have a cruise book for next year on her. As a hard core nonsmoker it sounds like I will have a great time. Hope they make even more areas nonsmoking. Noticed on our RCCL cruise last month that the nonsmoking areas had many more people then the smoking areas. The tide is turning:)
mnowak8202 Posted June 12, 2006 Author #29 Share Posted June 12, 2006 I would like to thank everyone for helping answer my question. Carnival was the line we went on and the SMOKING sections were LARGE. I think the RCCL sounds a little more understanding to people who don't want rude people blowing smoke in there face like they do on Carnival. FLACRUISER99 Posted December 17, 2006 #30 Share Posted December 17, 2006 as a smoker I do agree, and you have no fear that the bars and casino will be non smoking... the ship makes alot of revenue in these areas and it would not be in their best interest to make them non smoking.. I think the experiance described by sally is not very typical.. I would not worry :)I know HAL has an older crowd but on my 10 day Volendam trip they had a No Smoking night in the casino!! Guess what it went over so well that they decided two have a 2nd one.
