Dining time change on Island Princess

I have a friend going on the Island Princess at the end of June and he is wait listed for main dining. Has anyone been on the Island Princess lately that has changed their dining time from late to main seating when they got on board?

Were you successful in making the change?

Not sure what you mean by "main" seating. There is no "main" seating time. Are you referring to early vs. late traditional dining?

Sorry... Yes, I mean he has been wait listed for early seating and has been assigned late seating. What are the chances that he can be assigned early seating after he boards the ship? Does anyone have first hand experience changing their dining times?

Introducing the Maitre 'd to a Dead President (Alexander Hamilton works well) often works wonders in adjusting Dining Room arrangements.

The only way he will have any luck is if thy have a similar sized group trying to do the opposite thing. Early is definalty the most desirable time, especially on an Alaska run with an older crowd.

 

But make sure to keep the late, tell him. Now that they have shifted it from 8.30 to 8.00 it is not as bad. But keep that "ace in the hole" of having a traditional time scheduled.
