Transfers from aiport to river cruise in Russia

Has anybody taken a taxi to or from the pier where the river boats dock in St. Petersburg or Moscow? We booked the air on our own for our Amadeus cruise in September - they charge $80 per couple each way for transfers. I don't know if we should do that or take a taxi on our own.

Last month on our GCT cruise a fellow passenger took a cab from the Moscow airport to the riverboat and she said it cost $125.00. The trip in St. Petersburg from the boat to the airport is not that far. She went several hours early and they let her go on the shuttle with those of us who arranged it through GCT because there was room. She said later when I met her at JFK she wishes she had just gotten a cab in St. Petersburg since she had to wait about 4 hours at the airport.
