Blossum Posted June 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2006 We are planning on going to the restaurants that come with the cruise? Can you wear nice non-denim shorts? khakis? or does it need to be a suit? Also, for the formal night does it need to be a suit? thanks!!!!! Poconolady Posted June 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2006 The NCL dress code for men would be slacks (not shorts or jeans) Khakis and docker types are fine and a collared shirt (no tee shirts). Formal night is optional, you can wear the standard dress items mentioned above or suit/sportscoat or tux, or any combination of these! You will see men in all steps of formality. Thats Freestyles! Hikini Posted June 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2006 Be comfortable - just don't wear jeans, shorts or t-shirts. You can wear anything you want to if you dine in the buffet and Blue Lagoon. (Anything you want to, within reason of course!):D On formal night, which is optional, you will see people in everything from barely resort casual to full tuxedos and evening gowns. The dining rooms are open to all - not just those dressed real fancy. On the AK cruises, I would guess that less than 1/3 of the people actually get into formal attire. Have fun! shoreguy Posted June 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2006 You can if you want leave the suit home. You bring it and get traditional formal night pictures taken. Your choice. [/url]Dress Code in Dining Rooms Freestyle Cruising gives our guests the freedom to dress as they please. Resort casual attire is always appropriate morning, noon and night. However, NCL/ NCLA does not allow any blue jeans, t-shirts, shorts, cut-offs, tank tops, bare feet, etc. in any of our fine dining restaurants for dinner, including all main restaurants, alternative restaurants, and cover charge venues. Guests are allowed to wear blue jeans, shorts and t-shirts, in the evenings at the buffets, outdoor barbeques, and 24-hour venues, such as the Blue Lagoon, the Cadillac diner, etc. Lots of other answers here http://www.ncl.com/more/fp_mi_w2n.htm
