Excursion timing question ..... HELP

Our ship is scheduled to arrive in Bermuda, 9 am Monday. I'd like to save some $$ by booking an excursion (only available time is 1:30 pm Monday) on our own....but one catch (not a deal breaker) is they need a cc to hold the reservation. My even BIGGER issue is if the ship is delayed for whatever reason, and we miss this excursion, our cc is charged anyway. Is it worth gambling that everything will go on schedule? Is there just a small chance of delay, and typically do most ships (ok, Zenith) arrive when they're supposed to. $$ is sort of an issue here. Same excursion booked on the ship would cost about $150 more.

Thank you for your advice and help.

Debbie

First most ships arrive on time. Second most shore excursiom monitor what is happening with the ship and don't charge or refund if the problem is with the ship or the weather, but if you want to know the policy of a particular excursin company you need to ask them.
