designmom Posted June 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2006 My 11 year old DD and I will be on the AOS next March and are considering the Jolly Roger excursion. My question is to book it through the ship or do it on our own? If we do it on our own how difficult is it to get to their location? What would it cost? If you like to snorkel, I would recommend it. They stop at three sites...the snorkeling was great. The rope swing is also fun. If you are just wanting to ride on a boat, I might pass on this excursion. They do not travel far from where they pick you up, and the snorkeling sites are very close together. Even though there is room for all, the boat is quite full. I think the cost was less than $50 pp. They serve drinks and lunch. I would recommend booking it on your own, if you can. You will not have any problem getting to the Jolly Roger location. Taxi would be the easiest and most expensive. I would take the bus. The bus depot is right near where the ship docks. I just asked for help once I got off the ship. Cost is just over a dollar each way. You will need to allow about 45 minutes.
serene56 Posted June 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Jolly pirates hold 135 people maximum. How much is the excursion through your ship? doing it privately will cost 50 bucks.. its the same exact excursion as what the ship does. (if this is offered through Carnival on the Destiny I am not seeing it)
