Family Dining Options on Carnival Legend?

Hi all. My family and I are booked on the Carnival Legend for 12/2 - 12/10.

 

This will be the second cruise for my kids--we were on the Dawn Princess in April, 2005.

 

When we were on the Dawn Princess, the "Anytime" dining option worked out really well for us. Generally our M.O. was to to to the 24 hour buffet for breakfast and lunch (they served the same food as in the dining room--only buffet style), and then for dinner we'd take the kids to the buffet for an early dinner and then brought them to the Kids' Club. Except for a few occasions, they wanted no part of the lengthy fancy dining experience in the dining room!

 

HOWEVER, from what I've read about Carnival Legend, it seems that there is 24 hour room service and 24 hour pizza available, but the buffet is NOT available all the time.

 

Can anyone clarify what the dining options are on the Legend (or other comparable Carnival ship)? And offer any tips/tricks for kids who don't want to spend every meal in the dining room?

The kids can eat in the buffet with Camp Carnival. Or, you can take them to the buffet early, then take them to camp and choose the late dinner seating for the adults.
