KAWS Posted June 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2006 A couple of posts mentioned VIP - what is that? We're booked in a category 11 suite - is this considered VIP? Or is that for a past guest or what? What perks does a VIP get? Kim
CaptData Posted June 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2006 I think you are talking about Carnival which owns many of the cruise lines. If you sail on one of their lines they will VIP you to the other lines they own. ie If you take a Princess cruise this year and go on HAL next year they will give you a price break as if you had already sailed on HAL. Jimsgirl Posted June 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2006 You may have a problem getting any price break though. I have cruised HAL (5 ), Seabourn (1) Cunard (1), Carnival (1) Princess(1), so when I was booking another Princess for a 31 day cruise I called and asked about VIP pricing, the Customer service rep had never heard of VIP, as did a second staff member, and a third. Finaly staffer #4 said it only applied to certain cruises that were "not selling" and to "certain cabins". So in spite of apparently qualifying, I got no "discount" on the price whatsoever. It would appear to be a "gimmick" for advertising all the lines in one go
