I am posting this upon hearing about recent hate crimes against gays and lesbians in ports like St Martin and Jamaica. I am a straight male who respects all people regardless of sexuality. Yesterday was the gay and lesbian pride week celebration here in Portland and it attracted a large crowd according to the news. I, unfortunately, forgot about it due to a paper I have to write for school.

 

I just wanted you all to know that Portland is a gay and lesbian friendly city and urge you to consider a cruise here when you are doing your planning. Yes we have our bigots posing as Christians, but they are not in the cultural mainstream in our city. We welcome all people, as long as you are nice.

Rich, thanks for the positive affirmation about your city. My partner and I will be on a fall cruise with a stop in Portland. We really are looking forward to it.
