ANyone ever snorkeled over the airplane at EL CID-LA CEIBA hotel

Hi has anyone ever snorkeled here? can you see the plane???? how far from the pier is it????

From my reading on several scuba diving message boards, the air plane is pretty broken up, mostly just scattered pieces. Sorry this isn't what you were hoping to hear, but I think it is better to be slightly disappointed now than more so when you get to Cozumel.

I was about to reply that the plane wreck is an easy snorkle from shore as we have done it many times while staying at Park Royal. Our last stay there was a couple of years ago. I was not aware that it is not there any more due to turbulance. :eek:

 

Last time we could even read "Jim was here" from the surface. :cool:

Where did that Aero Ferinco plane crash?

 

Not the bad one in 2001 where everyone died, but the one that crashed near the coast of Cozumel and everyone lived (in 2002).

 

Is it possible to see that one with scuba/snorkel gear?
