schhi Posted June 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2006 For those of you who will be cruising into Amsterdam, we just got back and were thrilled to see a new TRAM station adjacent to the new Cruise Passenger Terminal downtown, near Central Station. It has been open for just a couple weeks and is an extension of the 25 Tram and takes you directly to the Flower Market and within a block of the Rijksmuseum and two bloocks of the Van Gogh. In fact, if your destination is the Rijks or the Van Gogh, you can transfer at Central Station (easy; done at the same spot) to the 2 or 5 TRAM which stops across the street from the Rijks and at the corner just past the Van Gogh. The fare for the TRAM is 1.60 Euros per person and the ticket is good on any TRAM or bus for an hour from the time of purchase. I have not been able to find a map of the Amsterdam TRAM system on the internet that shows the new station for the 25 TRAM on it. The information desk at the terminal passes out the new maps (and a bus system map in combination with it) inside the terminal. One other note, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Amsterdam faces the North Sea Canal just past the cruise terminal. It is something else!
Ine Posted June 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2006 25 is an extra tramline to the cruise-terminal, which was served already by tram 16 and a bus.
