Santiago de Compostella from Vigo

Recommended Posts

We were in Vigo in Sept.2004 and there were 8 of us. We hired 2 cabs at the pier and they took us to Santiago de Compostello. We agreed on a time frame for our stay and a meeting place for our return to the ship. If I remenber correctly we stayed 3 to 4 hours, saw tha cathedral, walked the old town, had a snack, did some shopping and met the cabs for our return to the ship. We ageed upon a price (quite reasonable compared to the ship's excursion) and didn't pay until our return. It still left us time to explore the area of Vigo around the port.

Hope this helps a bit.

This info about taking a cab to Santiago is very helpful. I cannot find any independant tours from Vigo to Santiago, (only from Sanatiago to Vigo). Do you think it would still be cost effective if there were only two people in the cab. The ships tour is over 100 euro per person! Thanks for any help.

Has anyone booked a private tour to Santiago de Compostella from the port of Vigo,if so,I would really appreciate the names of any private tour operators I could contact.
You might want to have a look at the following threads, which were returned on a search of this (Europe) forum for Santiago, as they may have some information that could help you:-
