Writeratsea Posted July 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2006 We'll be docking at West End - how long of a walk is it from where the cruise ship docks (we're on the Crown Princess) to the Maritime Museum? I am guessing about 500 feet or so, definitely walking distance. As you get off the ship, the clock tower mall is directly opposite you. This has the rum cake factory, the glass blowing shop, and Pirate's Landing Restaurant. To the right is the cooperage with the arts and crafts, the Frog and Onion Pub and the victualling yard. On the right as Maritime Lane winds around these buildings is the Maritime Museum, across a small moat. It is important to remember you must enter by 4:30 PM as they close the gates. Inside is the museum, the dolphin quest (you don't have to pay if you just want to watch), a large state of Neptune (great for photos) and the Commanders house which has an extensive coin collection, ship wreck artifacts and other exhibits.
