Back from The Grand part 1

Hi Folks,

Just back from the grand 12 days in the med and boy was it hot, very hot.

Anyway will let othewrs tell you about ports etc.

These are my view's of the ship,

For her age she is in fine condition, as with any ship maintenance is ongoing but the ship is as good as any other in the line apart from the very new.

Saw new carpets getting loaded on our going home day.

Now there are some stains and some rust and some little bits of sticky tape but not to the point you would write home about.

The crew where one of the best I have been with, you know the little things, like knowing your name , your drink where you come from etc.

The food was as good as any other Princess ship , the steak house fish, was the best ever and as for the chicken well do not eat for a few days if you want to clear your plate.

The mix of people on the ship was the best every good age range with a excellant mix of nationalities . First cruise I have every done that have been on tables had anytime dining that no US people some nights. PS Nowing wrong with US but so nice to meet people from around the world.

Crew seem quite a happy bunch.

Things that could have been better, could have won more money in the casino, movies under the stars some great films but they started at 8.45am and went on all day, why not start at 8.00pm and go on all night.

Now first time that my last day has not been a sea day. Spent night in Venice, well did not, as luggage was packed away, ship felt dead went to Venice during day so wanted to spent a night on the town but due to the water taxi ride heat etc packing other half said no.

Anyway those of you going on the Grand you are going to have the perfect Princess cruise experence.

Now not everyone one was happy met one couple who would never cruise with Princess again,

Some complaints that I came across, where ship was to big, having to pay extra for steak house, the tea being to weak, not being offered hot or cold milk with coffee, is this a US thing ?. The quality of buses used for tours. The local people in the ports we stopped at.

Will I cruise on this ship again, yes.

Would I do this cruise again, yes one day to do Rome, Athens, etc etc is not enough.

PS the Coffee card is to longer the Jack it is the Queen.

Shogan,

We've done this (or a very similar) itinerary with Princess three times now. Can even seeing us going back for a fourth!!

Glad you had a good time (even though your return journey sounded horrendous).

Hi There,

Its a great cruise so much to see and do as you said its one that you could do once a year for many years and not see the same thing twice.

I note you read part two.

What a trip.

When we saw the Princess sign being waved we were so happy.

yours Shogun
