Parasailing -- St. Thomas

Anyone have experience with "tandem" parasailing in St. Thomas?

On the RCI excursion literature it talks about this tandem parasailing, which I have never seen anywhere besides the cover of the RCI Caribbean brochure! I've seen solo parasailing in Mexico and voted a big NO on that.

Is this tandem deal a safe activity for everyone, including young teens thru middle-age? How long does the ride last and where do you set down, i.e., the beach or water??? Obviously if it's the water a bathing suit is mandatory, not just shorts and a tee-shirt. Is some sort of lift vest involved? Not all of us can swim, so this would be a "must."

Hope someone can answer this because we've got some family members wanting to try it but I said WAIT until we get some more info. Frankly, I find it all a bit frightening.

Thanks --
