jwas1 Posted July 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2006 When PG returns to Papeete, the Air Tahiti flight does not leave until nearly midnight. What do you do from the time you disembark until the flight?
Cruising Librarian Posted July 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2006 If you bought your air package from Regent, you will be given a couple of options. Go directly from the ship to a room at the Radission Papetee, or take a tour of Papetee, and then to the Radisson. You'll be able to use the pool at the Radisson, and then freshen up again before you leave for the airport at about 6.
AnotherThought Posted July 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2006 You will have to vacate your room by about 9:30 and will leave the ship by noon or so (if you have the Regent Air/Sea package). Our flight left at 10 p.m. from Papeete to LAX. The hotel day rooms aren't all available until 3 and we had to catch the buses to leave for the airport at 6, so having taken the tour, we didn't have much time at all at the hotel. Barely time to shower and freshen up and leave again. I wish we had not taken the tour. The Radisson is a GORGEOUS place and it would have been just fine to sit at the pool or the bar until the room was ready. The tour was okay but I would have been just as happy without it. cruiseej Posted July 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2006 If you skip the tour, you're the last off the ship, at about 1:00. That gives you time to take advantage of a final lunch on the ship. The bus got us to the hotel a little before 2:00, and our rooms were all ready, so we didn't have to sit around until 3:00 to get our room. (Unfortunately, it began to rain just as we got to our room, so we didn't get to take advantage of the nice pool.) It is frustrating to be told your bus pickup is at 6:00 when your flight isn't until 10:00, but I guess they want to insure that any possible delay won't cause people to be late. -- Eric
jwas1 Posted July 7, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Thanks for the information. From the 2006 PG brochure, it looks like the tour and hotel cost $125 per person. Is that correct and if so, what do you do if you do not want to pay the additional amount?
Cruising Librarian Posted July 7, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Check again with your travel agent. It was included with our package in April 2006 and again in 2007. The TA I booked the 2007 cruise with wasn't aware it was included and had to check again with Regent after I had told him it was included in the earlier cruise. cruiseej Posted July 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2006 *If* you book your air through RSSC, and if you're on a night flight out, then it is included at no cost to you. -- Eric
