Tropicalshowers Posted July 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2006 Hi all, I read on a Vanuatu tourist site that the duty free shops deliver goods to the wharf. I can only imagine that those goods would be of the larger variety (computers etc...?), or do they automatically deliver no matter what one has purchased? Cheers. aussiedisneyfan Posted July 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2006 Can't comment on items like that, but the main alchohol/cigarette duty free shops deliver to the ship. You then don't see your stuff till about the last night of the cruise.
karmac Posted July 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2006 We had alcohol delivered to our cabin on the last night (delivered to the ship in Vila), can't remember about cigarettes & perfume (will speak to DH & let you know) but we bought MP3 players & a watch that we took with us when we bought them. Tropicalshowers Posted July 9, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Thanks for that info Karen & Aussiedisneyfan. I imagine alcohol is delivered & then kept by the cruiseline as part of their alcohol policy. Cheers
Skyrules Posted July 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2006 The duty free we brought in Vila (just alcohol) was delivered to the ship by the store we bought it from, and then it was delivered to our cabin that day - I think we had it before we'd even sailed from Vila. But it did come with a Vanuatu customs label saying it couldn't be opened until we returned to Brisbane. Maybe this was because Vila was our last port? The duty free alcohol we bought on-board wasn't delivered to the cabin until late on the last sea day.
aussiedisneyfan Posted July 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Maybe the port order thing or difference in ships. On our Star cruise Vila was last and it was delivered straight away but on the Sun it was kept until the last night of the cruise, Vila wasn't our last port.
