Rockstar79 Posted July 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2006 Hello, I am a first time cruiser & will be on the Carnival Freedom on 4/7/07. What is the best way to organize groups for shore excursions with independent tour companies so we can get the best price per person? We will be on our honeymoon (obviously not travelling with anyone else), & we'd like to join some of our fellow cruisers on excursions. Thanks in advance :)
BaumD Posted July 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2006 Unless you happen to know other people going on your cruise in advance, it is pretty hard. One possible way is to see if there is a Roll Call for your cruise on Cruise Critic and see if any other passengers are interested.
Rockstar79 Posted July 17, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted July 17, 2006 I have found the roll call for our ship and there are a few people interested in tours. A tour operator in Italy also reccomended trying to organize through the roll call board or through the Yahoo board dedicated to Carnival cruises in the Med. Hope this helps someone. Boo's Mom Posted July 22, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2006 We have organized through the Roll Call (for your sailing) on this site. Also, when we still had some spaces unfilled prior to sailing, we were able to meet folks onboard the ship and offered the slots to them. Your private tours will typically be cheaper and of a better quality than what the ship provides. It is pretty easy to "sell" these open slots onboard the ship. ie: you will meet people at your dinner table... and then you can meet lots of people at lunch and breakfast, because the seating is "open". This means that they will seat you with different people every time you eat these two meals in the dining room.
