Ship Time Vs. Port Time Costa Rica on Carnival

Help! I just checked the world time clocks and it appears that Costa Rica is two hours behind EST. We are leaving from FL, so the ship will be on EST when we leave. I am trying to arrange a private excursion and don't know what to plan for in terms of time - how does the ship time compare to port time in Costa Rica? We are going on a cruise in November on the Carnival Liberty. Please help and thanks in advance for your advice!

Costa Rica doesn't use daylight savings time. In November CR will only be 1 hour behind Eastern time. When we were in Limon on the Legend, ship time was one hour ahead. All tours booked through the ship were quoted in "ship time". We booked a private driver to take us to Almonds and Corals to go ziplining. For our discussions with him we dealt with ship time. Just be clear with any vendors about this. DO NOT change your watch unless directed to do so by the CD or the Capers.
