In July, the sun sets about 6:30PM.

 

In August, it sets about 6:45PM.

My DH promised our DD pictures of a sunset from one of the islands. Well, the Boatyard turned out to be it. You can see them at the webshots link below. Taxi drivers were all trying to get us to leave with them, but we kept saying know, we've got to get the sunset, where should we have dinner? They all recommended "Lobster Alive" on the beach, and now so do we!

Lobster Alive is not only a great place for dinner, but a great place to see out beautiful sunsets.

 

If you're really a sunset aficionado, and a photographer, the best place to see the sunset on the island is at the top of Gun Hill Signal Station.

 

Another great place is at the Lone Star garage or The Cliff.

 

A little Mount Gay Rum makes the most mundane sunset look like Valhalla.

 

(And don't forget to look for the "green-flash"...it is a reality!)

Actually the days getting longer after June 21st is impossible!

 

June 21st is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, after June 21st the days get shorter! So sunset in July being 6:30 and being at 6:45 in August is impossible.
