Hi, I did this cruise a few yrs back on the Triumph, and the weather was cool, we did have a day or so of nice weather and did wear shorts/bathingsuits. But got more wear our of our jeans. I also found some of the lounges, bars, areas, to be a little too chilly with the air/conditioning, so I did make use of a light sweater inside , also.

We are going on the Victory when you get back, maybe we'll see you at the pier!

I am sorry, I dont know the price of the soda cards, We drink mostly liquer, or coffee, and made use of the free ice tea, punch and morning OJ, hope that helps somewhat.Have a great trip!:D

A soda card runs $5.50 per day for an adult and $4.00 a day if under 18 (multiply the $$ by total days of your cruise and add a 15% tip for the total cost).

The card is good for a glass of soda. The prices are $1.25 for a glass and $1.75 for a can of soda (Coke products, and again, 15% is added as a tip).

Price of soda varies by the amount of alcohol that I add into it. You can get a soda card, search "soda card" on this site and you will get pricing, it is a per day cost. You can look up weather forecasts and "norms" for an area many places on the net www.accuweather.com yes, pack shorts, you may want to pack some other clothes though as well, and a toothbrush etc... if you don't wear something formal, then please eat your dinner at the buffet that evening, unruly Tuxedo wearing formal passengers have been known to attack and beat improperly dressed folk in the dining room on formal night.

You might want to read your "Welcome Aboard" guide that came with your documents...

I would take shorts as well as cool weather clothes. You just never know what the weather will be, and shorts don't take up much room! The theater is VERY cold. We saw prople wearing robes in there!

There is a soda card that entitles you to unlimited sodas all week. If you search for "soda" you will find prices. You have to drink a fair amount to make it worth the money. You can bring your own soda on board if you want. And to anticipate your next question: You are supposed to have one soda card per person. Whether you follow that rule or not is up to your own ethics.

Many people feel Carnival does not really enforce the rules on formal night. There are many reports of jeans in the dining room that night. But I didn't notice any when I was on Victory. The people all around us were dressed very nicely (think of church or wedding attire). A tux and evening gown isn't necessary, but a suit and nice dress is perfectly acceptable.

I can't tell you about the weather; our cruise was Caribbean. Da search for "Victory" and you will find a number of reviews, many of which mention weather.

Have a great time. I want to do this cruise next summer, so write a review (complete with weather report!) when you come back.

We were on the Victory July 6th through 10th (earlier this month) and it was a bit chilly the days that we were at sea, I'm guessing the temp was in the 60's. It was also very foggy both days until about noon. People were sitting out by the pools wrapped in blankets and towels. It was very warm and sunny the day we were in Halifax, high 80's. I would definitely bring along some long pants and a warm sweater in addition to shorts.

The dress code for Formal Night didn't appear to be enforced at all although most people were nicely dressed. There was a couple seated near us at dinner on Formal Night wearing shorts but I didn't see any jeans. The food in the diningroom and at the buffet was good. We ate in the diningroom every night except for the Halifax day (too tired after all the walking). We had breakfast in the diningoom twice and at the buffet the rest of the time. The only thing that I thought wasn't good was the lobster. It was really tough and just didn't taste right. Someone else at our table had two of the lobsters and said they were good so maybe it was just mine. I didn't bother trying another because there was already way too much to eat. All the other seafood and smoked fish dishes that I had were fine. The dinner menus are posted on one of the television channels so you can plan ahead!

We (my sister and I) had a great time. We loved the ship. The food was good and boarding was a breeze. My sister ordered a soda with dinner one night and the charge (with tip) was $2. There weren't a ton of activities but we still found plenty to do to entertain ourselves - Captain's party, art auction, casino, shopping, people watching, etc. Halifax was great too. We didn't do any excursions, just spent the day walking all over town and the boardwalk. We also went to the Maritime Museum to see the Titanic exhibit. We enjoyed the trip so much that we're going again next summer for one night longer and taking my father, son and nephew along for a combined birthday-graduation celebration.

My family cruised on the 10th sailing and it was very warm by the pool and I am still pealing from the sunburn I got. Only used SPF 8. The pools were a consistant 68 or 69 degrees. My 11 year old could only stand it for a few minutes but relentlessly begged to keep going back to the pool. We did a self guided Kayaking trip out of St. Maartin. It was great weather. Wore shorts and got totally soaked. The water from the waves was cold at first, but we were working so hard it only lasted a second. It rained in Halifax the day we were there and jeans were better than shorts. The last day was another great day to hang out by the pool or sit on your balcony. I am sure your weather will be quite the same.
