Can you settle an argument for me?

 

On the Carnival Spirit, are the safes programmed by number, or by swipe card?

On all the newer ships it's done with a swipe card.

Please elaborate on how the swipe card safes work. Do they give you a card or do you need to take something with a magnetic strip. I was planning on locking all the credit cards in the safe and don't really want to have to carry one around with me to unlock it. Any suggestions?

Use a grocery store card, or some other card that you don't neccessarily need or won't matter if you lose it.

I use an old (0$ balance gift card) you can have a hole punched in it as well as your sign and sail card and then get your free lanyard at the casino.

Thanks so much for all the info. I will get a $0 balance gift card and use that. I like the idea of having a hole punched to keep it with our S&S card.

Just went today and picked up one at Walmart. Had a little problem getting it though. She wanted to put $10.00 on it. I told her what I needed it for and she reached under the register and asked me how many I needed. So if you need one just asked the cashier for a old used one, they just throw them out after receiving them.
