Hawaii Shore Excursions

We will be on the Island to Hawaii Oct 6th. Has anyone used Fishbowl Tours?

Is it possible to wait until the ship docks and hire a local driver as in the Caribbean to do a tour?

We are particularly interested in tours for Maui and the Big Island. Any ideas?

We've been to Kauai 2x but never got to the Fern Grotto. Is it worth it? And how to get there from the pier? I see the tour there is just $15 pp but what would it cost to take a cab from the pier?

No local drivers per se. You'd have to arrange something with a taxi company or a tour company beforehand. Fern Grotto is overrated. Do a search with that term here and you'll see some comments.

Thank you Spleen. I guess that's why in two trips to Kauai we never went to Fern Grotto. Do you know anything about Fishbowl Tours?
