Jenna1983 Posted July 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2006 What exactly would you recommend in Roatan for two college girls who like the beach/snorkeling/shopping (really for anything lol). Thanks :D
SeaPA1 Posted July 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2006 Spend the day in West End community & West Bay Beach. West Bay Beach is a wonderful beach area with some very good snorkeling. West End is only a few minutes away by water taxi; it's a fun little community of shops, seaside bars/restaurants, dive shops, etc. If you enjoy meeting people from around the world, spend some time there chatting with folks from around the world (it's popular with the younger crowd, particularly the European backpacker crowd). Some of my best younger days were spent talking to folks there & gaining perspective on things from around the world.
jetertorre Posted July 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2006 The Tabyana Beach Day was great. You can wade out right from the beach to the reef and into some of the best snorkeling in the world. They have guys on kayaks nearby to watch the bathers and the snorkeler's. I've read about sand fleas in Roatan from people here but I was there in Dec. and didn't have any issues at all with bugs. Maybe it was the time of year? Tabyana has a bar with a good choice of drinks, the locals also sell beer and they also have good food and bath facilities. We really had a great day there. Wish I was going too!
caribbean dreams Posted September 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2006 My college age girls loves the Canopy tour, we have been on many cruises and to date, this excursion is their favorite. After the canopy tour we had the driver take us to a little resort right past west bay, not crowded and good snorkeling. Oh and the beach massages were $15 for 1 hour.
