clayfu1 Posted July 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2006 do you use cash in the casino's? or do you use your Sign and sail card? it said on carnival's website you use your SS but i thought you get a 3% surcharge for taking cash or something? we're leaving for port carnival tomorrow =)
zydecocruiser Posted July 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2006 The 3% is a cash advance fee - similar to if you took your credit card to a bank and charged money. They will give you the cash against your credit card, and charge an origination fee. Cash (or credits on your SS card) you put into the machine, and take out, either in cash or on credit to your SS card - there is no charge. When you cash out any cash on your SS card - there is no charge. Since you leave tomorrow (today?), it is probably too late, but one can establish a line of credit for the casino, if one wishes to play on credit, and skip some of the bs and fees. But there is still a "cost". Whatever your time is worth in doing so, and perhaps coughing up more personal information than you care to. Me? I don't care. big_duck Posted July 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I use cash in the casino. They take enough of my money without me giving them an extra 3%.
wmsherwood Posted July 28, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2006 We use cash in the casino as well. It's one of the few places to use cash on the ship anyway!! So we take along the casino money and generally don't bring any back :( ! Oh well, it's fun! Enjoy your cruise bill
