I am quite concerned as from everything I have read on the boards it seems like the Riviera deck is very noisy. We have booked a penthouse suite. Now that everything is booked at Christmas on the CP and I need a suite, does anyone have any suggestions? I hate ear plugs and I am a light sleeper. I am sure it is a beautiful room (quite expensive) but if one can't enjoy it what's the point? Why do they put such beautiful rooms under a pool?

for reviews of that particular deck?

 

I was doing a lot of reading on Princess since i never sailed with them. Booked Caribbean Princess for February 2007.

 

If everything you read about the Riveria deck is not good then I would not be booking it. I know i booked Caribe deck C753 just for the bigger balcony after reading a few pages.

 

I also didnt like that there are some balconies that are wide opened for people above them- for a price of a suite there is no way i would wat to pay that kind of price.

Thanks, I decided to cancel that cabin booking. I am not spending a fortune to have it ruined by noise. I'll see if other suites are available. Marcia

I have been one deck below the pool deck and have not had any real bad

experience with noise. The soundproofing is pretty good on these ships I

guess or maybe I just never paid too much attention. To be honest, I have heard more noise from the hallway late at night from intoxicated passengers banging against the walls.
