I emailed the casino host on the Triumph (we are sailing on 8/26) and I got back a big fat NOTHING.

Same on the Legend. I emailed the Casino Host and have not received a response yet. We still have time before our sail date. We will see what happens...

I wonder if this is the same Daniella who used to be a BJ dealer on the Holiday and the Elation? I know she was trying to get on another ship this past January. If so, she is the nicest person and did remember me from our previous sailing.

I bet she is... tiny, dark hair and extremely friendly. Unfortunately I can't remember what country she is from but she did mention to me that she was a blackjack dealer and our Fascination sailing was her first time as a Casino Host by herself.... With her personality she should go far with Carnival...

I sent an email to the Conquest Casino host, I have not heard anything back yet......it's been several days. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait and see!!

It will take a while, I believe he is on vacation. I received a response from the Carnival Player Coordinator (they are helping us organize a slot pull for our group)... but it was several days after one of my messages.

Do you all really think that the casino manager is going to give everyone a nice little gift or decorate your cabin or send a fruit basket just because you send him and email?

Do the math, folks. Now the poor guys (or gals) are going to be inundated with emails from all these people and then next will be the complaints because "I emailed the casino director and didn't get anything". If this really, really happened, all the cabins would probably be decorated or have fruit baskets. Everybody would get a tote bag.....C'mon here. Lets have a little reality?

That is not to say that someone who has a track record of gambling on board over a period of time, or someone who is a high roller is not going to get something as a welcome aboard. But those of us who are nickel and dime gamblers certainly couldn't possibly expect these Perks.

Atlantic City, Las Vegas and other gambling meccas also take really good care of their gamblers...doesn't mean they will do the same for the rest of us.

This entire "myth" arose from something Carnival/OPC put in print. They actually are asking members to contact them for a rather minor, but still nice, perk (may vary by skill level).

Sure, I know about that...but my feeling from what I was reading here was that folks thought by just emailing, they would suddenly get a gift of some sort. Now you know that's what some people are thinking-be honest!

You know that is EXACTLY what some are thinking. These are perks for the OPC members, and yes, the perks are more than likely based on your points, play level, etc. I don't think they are decorating cabins for people who are not OPC members... that would be ridiculous. But one thing I have seen is people will do just about anything to get something for free...

Heather, I emailed him this past Sunday and got this reply back on Monday...

Hello Karen,

My name is Stewart and I am your casino host in the Tahiti Casino on board the FunShip Conquest. If there is anything I can help you with, please do not hesitate to ask. Unfortunately I will not be on the Conquest when join us as I will be on vacation myself. However I will inform my replacement Claire Richards of you joining us so she will know to look after you. She will be upstairs in the Tahiti Casino on deck 5 during the afternoon, showing guests around the casino and answering questions.

Our Casino has a variety of table games that you will be able to enjoy during your cruise, including Blackjack, American Roulette, Craps, Caribbean Stud, and Let It Ride. You may also like to try our latest additions to the casino, Three Card Poker and Wheel of Madness Blackjack and Texas Hold'em.

You will be pleased to find Carnival Cruise Lines have introduced many new innovations for the benefits of our players. While playing the 250+ Slot machines we have available on the Conquest, all you need to do is insert your room key to collect points and every 1,000 points you accumulate you will receive $10 credit instantly. Also with the room key inserted in the machine, you can easily transfer your credits from the machine to your card, take it to another machine to play or to the cashiers to cash out. No need to carry coins around any more. "CASH OUT" is first truly cashless gaming system introduced for the benefits of our players.

And if you choose to join in the fun of the Slots and Blackjack Tournaments, you may walk away with an additional $500 in prize money and casino gifts!

Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure it will be the vacation of a lifetime aboard our Carnival Fun ship, and we look forward to meeting you soon!

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully

It took 3 days (not bad, but not instant) until I received the following from the Casino Host on the Spirit. No promise of freebies, but after all, it is our first cruise and we are not OPC members yet...

Hello Greg

My name is Bryan and I am the casino host on board the Carnival Spirit.

You can join the Ocean Players Club by registering once onboard at the

casino cashiers or with myself.

We have some great tournaments lined up for your cruise including two

slot tournaments and two blackjack tournaments. Each is only $20 to

enter with a first prize of five hundred dollars.

We have all of your favorite table games including blackjack, roulette,

craps, and our newest addition Texas Hold 'em.

We also have over two hundred slot machines including the Wheel of

Fortune, Jackpot Party and Texas Tea ranging from pennies up to five

dollars.

I am sure you will have a great time cruising on the Spirit and I look

forward to seeing you.

  • 11 months later...

Hi guys! I haven't been on a cruise in awhile, but the last one I went on was the Spirit. Before that was the conquest. Bryan Harding was our casino host both times and he was spectacular!!! We used to keep in touch, but I don't know what ship he's on anymore. Can anyone help me find him? I am trying to plan a cruise and would like to know if he'll be our casino host or not.

Thank you for all of your help,

Melissa

I'm an OPC Platinum VIP level, and got no decorations, fruit basket, etc. in the cabin this time...I got off the ship on Monday.

The casino host did send wine to my table three of the 4 nights, and had a small "gift" ($200) of cash at the cage for me.

I donated their "gift" to this

...and then I won over $9,000 during the cruise. :D

Sailing in a little more than 2 weeks.

Spend time daily in the casino - plan on joining the OPC

Mainly play slots - Regularly go to AC

However, although I would love to introduce myself to the casino host by E Mail - my question is - I am no way a high roller - I will probably spend 600 -700 for a 5 night cruise - and donate most winnings back - LOL

My question is - will it be foolish to contact the casino host with spending this small amount of money - what do you guys normally spend in the casino? Thanks for your advise. :)

Is it just me or has anyone else not been able to open any of the Ocean Players Club links?

I even googled 'ocean players club' found many links all of which were dead.

Try this: http://www.oceanplayersclub.com/Default.aspx

Somne of the referenced links are to oceanplayers.com (without "club"), which appears to be an outdated address

On the Spirit, we got bon voyage decorations, a deck of cards, a fruit basket, and 2 keyrings. Part of the stuff was from the casino host on the Spirit, and part was from the casino host on the Paradise which we were on just 2 months prior.
