Porvoo?

We are on the Sept 12th sailing on the Star out of Copenhagen. I have never been to Helsinki and would like to spend some time exploring the city, but I am curious about Porvoo. It sounds kind of neat. Can I do both? Is Porvoo worth it? I'd love to hear from anyone who has been there. Thanks!

Porvoo is nice, with some of that old town charm... Sadly the 14th century church was a target of arsonists recently, and is closed for at least a year. That is a major loss for touring the city. :(

 

You can reach Porvoo from the Helsinki centre in less than an hour by a regular bus service, so you would have to reserve four hours for the trip...
