Atlantis question

I read somewhere over the weekend that Atlantis is charging to see the aquarium. When we went a couple of years ago, you could walk around the lobby, casino and part of the aquarium area. (Maybe a couple of the walls were part of the aquarium). You could also walk outside and see the marine life from the top. Can you still do that? Is there a charge for another part of the aquarium? We're not interested in the Dig - just the fish.

You can still view the area near the Great Hall of Waters restaurant for free. (those 4-5 big windows of aquarium), but you have to purchase the digs pass in order to go out on the grounds to see the predator lagoon, stingrays, turtles etc. NOONE is allowed outside on the grounds without a bracelet, either as a guest, or with the Digs tour.

Of course, there's a significant difference in seeing the aquariums at nite than during daylight hours. All the surface lighting in the world won't allow you to see the colors and details of the aquariums and it's inhabitants that you see in sunlight. Same for the predators lagoons, stingrays, sharks and turtles.

If you want to enjoy them to the fullest, you'll have to hand over the $29 pp.

I was really not too jazzed by the aquarium. If I had paid almost $30 to see it I would have felt ripped off. I could go to the Boston Aquarium for less and get so much more (interactive activities, shows, etc).

With such limited time in Nassau on my Dawn cruise, I wish I spent it doing something else that night and come back in the morning to see the hotel and take pictures, hit the casino when it's a little less crowded.

thanks for that

Of course, you realize these are only facades, and there are no real geological "finds" in the Digs (or anywhere else at Atlantis).
