Vision Class Ships - Poles in Jr. Suite?

We're booked in a JS (8284) on Enchantment and noticed in the 360 view of the cabin, that there's a pole at the foot of the bed. Does anyone know how many cabins have this? As humerous as it sounds, it's not really something we want. We're also planning to book on the Vision for 10/2007 and since they're similar ships, the information would be helpful for that too.

The 360 view on RCCL's website is representative, not the actual picture of the cabins. From what I've heard few cabins actually have the pole, and it is only on the Enchantment.

Had a Jr. Suite on Vision in 2001 to Alaska. Cabin C8054. It was wonderful, no poles. After doing a Jr Suite it is hard to go back to just an outside balcony. Enjoy!

We had a pole in our JS on Grandeur. It didn't get in the way in the least.

I don't know how many have them. You could venture a e-mail to the ship via C&A to see if the cabin you have booked has one or not.

Well, as my luck would have it, our cabin did indeed have a lovely pole at the foot of the bed. I could see a few JS's around us and saw a couple more, so I didn't feel too bad. In fact, one of the couples at our table had a JS with a pole too.

 

I'm really surprised there isn't more chatter on this site about it. After a while, we actually forgot it was there, but the initial impression left me a bit disappointed. At the very least RCCL should offer a lower price for this type of cabin.

 

Oh well, I shouldn't complain a bit. Five days at sea sure beats five days at work!
