Flight times out of Ft Lauderdale

We are booked on the Mediterranea sailing 2/4/07. Considering a return flight that leaves at about 11:00. For those of you that have sailed Costa out of Ft Lauderdale. What has been your experience with disembarking in time to make an 11:00 flight.

11 is probably the earliest you'd want to have a flight leave. ship arrives at 8am i assume. you disembark by 'color codes' which are linked to times, 8am, 815, 830, etc. they go as high as 10am but you could very easily exit the ship early or talk to someone and have an 8am time. there are many other things to consider. what if the ship is late due to weather or another event and doesnt get in or cleared customs till 9? remember you have to have time to get off the boat, go thru customs, then a short taxi ride to the airport. if you take costa's bus transfers (which i HIGHLY suggest you dont) they wait a long time for the bus to fill up, we waited an hour. then remember every sunday at FLL is EXTREMELY busy, it will take you a good while to check in and then comes security too. so could you make it yes, but be vigilant you must be swift in catching your plane.
