My husband and I booked our own airfare and so we have not arranged for transfers through Oceania. Should I arrange transfer with them? Does anyone know the best way for us to get to Gatwick for a 12:30 p.m. flight? How far is Dover from Gatwick? We had thought we would meet another couple on the ship and "share a ride" to the airport, but now I think we need to do something in advance. Hope someone out there can help us......thanks in advance. We leave on the 11th so please reply quickly!

You can get a cab from the ship to Dover Priory Station (about 10 minutes). There are two trains per hour from Dover Priory Station to London Victoria Station. The trip takes about 2 hours. At Victoria Station, take the Gatwick Express to Gatwick Airport. This should take about 30 minutes, and a train leaves every 15 minutes.

This probably sounds complicated but it is actually very easy. Travel like the locals. You'll have more fun and save money too.

Hi Pittsburgh Terri,

First have your TA call Oceania and see if they will let you take their transport to the Airport and how much it is. Then, contact a transport service such as totallyairports.com and find our how much they want. Then, you can make a decision. I love to take trains, but if you have to get to the airport to catch your flight, you would be a nervous wreck. It is a two hour ride to London from Dover.
