Pacific Dawn Questions

I have been thinking of booking a Pacific Dawn cruise for next year for myself and my boyfriend. The 26th October 2007 for 8 nights. I was just wondering, would this cruise be booked up by now, considering it will be the very first cruise for Pacific Dawn?

If not there were cruises on Pacific Sun that sounded good.

Does anyone know what Pacific Dawn will be like? Will there be a lot of renovations, as parts of the ship looked older? I wonder how it will compare to Pacific Sun.

I suppose it doesn't matter too much, I'm just keen to go on another cruise! :)

Hi strawberry

I for one would be a bit hesitant to book the first cruise just on P&O's track record. Both the Sun & the Star had their first cruise cancelled due to not being ready in time. Don't mean to put you off but just wanted to point it out, give you something to think about.

how many CC's are going so far?

There's myself, kazza, shell, samushy, brushtail, howsthis, sailawaysally & yourself. A few of these don't post very much at the moment but I'm sure they will when it gets closer.

Yeah, why don't you join all of us on the 75th Anniversary cruise. Should be good.

I would love to do that cruise, unfortunately I can't, as would need to save up longer for that cruise. Plus it will be my brothers birthday. Would feel bad if i went away on holidays on his 13th birthday!:p

I might wait for Pacific Dawn until she is up and running and go on Pacific Sun insead.

I am sure all the Cruise Critics going on the Nov cruise will have a fantastic time! :)

Hmmm. All this talk about the 75th anniversary cruise makes it very tempting to look into it.

And yes, I would be hesitant to book on the maiden cruise, too much risk of there being unforseen delays. Although given that the conversion of Regal Princess to Pacific Dawn is acutally happening in Australia, unlike Sun (done in the Caribbean somewhere) and Star (done in Italy) - there's a better chance she'll be ready on time as there isn't the distance to travel to get here. It's a good thing they're combining Regal Princess' last cruise as RP and the relocation cruise to Australia into one cruise.

A question about Dawn. I was looking at the deck plans before and could not work out where the 'nightclub' would be. Pacific Star uses there Starlight Lounge and Pacific Sun has the OZ Nightclub but couldnt find an area that dawn could use. Do you reakon the DOME would be used for this? I hope so... that would be amazing :D Oh and also i my partner and myself will be on the Nov 9th Sailing of Dawn. Balcony Room :)

Welcome aboard Aussie84, great to have another name to add to the list. It seems like this nov 9 cruise is selling quickly.

To all the newcomers coming on the Nov 9th cruise, why not join the roll call? Will make it easier to keep track of who's going.

Yes, The Dome will become the nightlclub on Pacific Dawn. On Regal Princess, the Casino is located in The Dome, but during the refit the Casino is being moved to one of the lower decks, but I can't find it on the deckplan at the moment. It will be good having the nightclub up on top away from the everything else.

We are very tempted Karen!

If you don't mind me asking, which cabin grade did you opt for?? We were looking at GG grade on Plaza Deck, we thought that looked about equivalent to the cabins we have had on previous cruises.

We have booked grade FF, outside Emerald Deck (E199) & our friends grade M, inside Emerald deck (E207). We were going to book Plaza Deck but we were booking 1 inside & 1 outside cabin & there were no inside cabins left on Plaza (there are only 16 of them). Hope to see you onboard:) .
