family cruise lines

i would appreciate any and all opinions regarding the "family" oriented cruise lines. we sailed 4x with disney when the children were younger and 2x with rci, most recently to europe on the brilliance.

 

i am a widow with 3 teens, 18, 16 and 15. we love rci and have booked the navigator for a christmas cruise but i would like to explore other lines.

any suggestions?

If you enjoy RCL, why not try Celebrity?

 

As adults, we did not have any problems on HAL, and the crew was great towards the 4 children in our family. BUT many OTHER passengers, on HAL were, let's just say, less receptive to children. Kid's club on HAL was also just so, so.

With the ages of your kids I would try Carnival or Princess. From what I've read HAL tends to attract an older group and less kids. We've cruised Carnival quite a bit and my teens always have a great time.

I'm also a widow cruising with my children, though mine are younger than yours. I enjoy Princess - the kids love it, and it's also really a nice cruise for me. Really though, I mostly choose based on value, as I've cruised many of the different lines and have never had a bad cruise yet!

NCL has a fabulous kids program. We couldn't keep our 2 kids out of the kids crew when we went on the Dawn last summer. Interestingly, here is an article I came across today comparing the different lines' family/kids program:
