Rare Keith1010 Posted August 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2006 I was wondering if anyone knows which visa service that Cunard uses when Visas are required. I realize that one doesn't have to use that service but was wondering who Cunard uses. Also, are there some ports where visas might be required where Cunard makes the arrangements on board the ship and one doesn't have to apply for visas ahead of time. The ones I'm wondering about are for Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand. Thanks, Keith

I am booked on the QE2 full world cruise and will use the service. Cunard sends out a package about 3 months or so before the cruise. It seems pretty simple, and I am a one-stop-shopping kinda guy. From the ports you list, I assume you, too, are on QE2. No Visa required for Hong Kong or Thailand. A Visa is required for the call at Danang, Vietnam. Good luck & happy sailings, Bobby
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 8, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Bobby, thank you so very much for the information you provided. It is exactly what I needed to know. We plan to visit these locations on the Queen Victoria. This would be our first time sailing on Cunard and our first time to these locations. We have sailed several other lines including Crystal and Seabourn. Your World Cruise booking on the QE2 sounds wonderful. Keith
coy860 Posted August 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2006 I am booked on the full World Cruise on the QM2. My travel agent, just last week spoke with the World Cruise specialist about this, at my request. They went over every port, and NO visas are necessary for any port. We are considered "in transit". I am going to wait another month, and perhaps contact Cunard to see if they have made some changes to their itinerary.

The worst part of the visa was filling out the form. Everything was done in less than a week.
