Islander....got a question about water island

Been looking at the vinow website and my interest in water island has grown. I notice that there is no real transportation on the island....do you know if they have bike rentals at the pier (phillips landing?) ? thinking about going to honeymoon beach or elephant bay...just wondering if the walking will be too much.

There is a bike tour on Water Island, they might offer bike rentals. You'd need to get in touch with then beforehand as I don't think they have a set up at Phillips Landing. Here is their website http://www.waterislandadventures.com/.

 

You can walk from Phillips Landing to Honeymoon Beach. You can find the directions at http://www.*****/waterisland/attractions_wi/hiking.php. Takes about 10 minutes, its a gentle incline and then a steep but short descent to the beach. I don't know if there is a road or trail to Elephant Bay.

Thanks again ...just checked the ferry schedule and it looks like will miss the 8am ferry. our ship doesn't get until 8. then the next ferry isn't til 10:30. So I think we will skip it this time go to st john instead (not a bad consolation prize )
