We are considering staying here in April of '07. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts were. Also, the Bayside Marketplace is right across the street. Is there a really good place to eat there???

Thanks:)

We have stayed there many times. It is a Holiday Inn. It is almost always full on the weekends with cruisers. Bayside is nice. Lots of places to eat including Babba Gumps and Hard Rock. Live free entertainment on the weekends. And if that isn't enough you can have your picture taken with a 8ft Boa. We just booked the Intercontinental thru Hotwire for $91/nt for 5 nights in Oct for a precruise stay. It is in the same area, on the south side of Bayside, and is a 4*. Should be nicer hotel. You can see reviews of both on tripadvisor.com. No trip is complete without going to SoBe. If you go be sure to walk on the beach in early afternoon. The sights are beat then!!!!

We stayed there in March this year for the pre cruise night. Was great. Ask for a room on the 8-10th floor facing the port. You can get up early (5am or so) and watch your ship come in. It was soo exciting. Especially for our friends who had never cruised before.

Enjoy the Cuban fair at the Bayside Mkt. We had Cuban sandwiches at one of the open air restuarants.

We were advised to stay in after dark and did so....we were tired and wanted up early anyways.

ENJOY!!

We too are considering this hotel for a pre-cruise stay the end of September. Since there are five us we will either need to get two taxis or, do you know if they have taxi vans? Also since I don't believe this hotel offers either airport or port transportation can anyone tell me what to plan on for these expenditures - thank you sooooooooo much!

When we stayed there this summer, the cost of a taxi from the airport to the hotel ran about $22 plus tip. From the hotel to the ship was around $8-10 plus tip. Yes, there are van taxis. If you prefer, you can ask the concierge at the hotel and they can make arrangments for a driver to pick your group up at a designated time. That's what we did, since there were 9 of us, and it cost less than two taxis.
