suekay Posted July 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2004 Two friends and I have an aft cabin on the Navigator in December. I know that there are 2 loungers out there, but wondered if it would be possible to ask the cabin steward to get another for us. If so, any suggestions on how much to tip him? Thanks
stretch Posted July 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2004 Just ask your steward for one, I've never been turned down on such a request. Stretch
Cloudmaster Posted July 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2004 I've never made that request, but I also have never been turned down for any reasonable request.
bbqman Posted July 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2004 Yes you can ask for extra chairs/loungers. This will not be a problem.
kevink Posted July 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2004 I got turned down the last cruise on Splendour when asking for another lounger :-(. My steward said he'd like to but there were none available. If it happens again next cruise I plan to late-night requisition one from the deck.
Baseball fan Posted July 11, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2004 I had an aft balcony on AOS in May. We thought the two lounge chairs would be there (based on posted photos), but there weren't any. We requested them from our steward who brought them later that day.
captbill Posted July 11, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2004 If it happens again next cruise I plan to late-night requisition one from the deck. You may be better off making your requisition in the early morning hours ... often times you'll find your lounger already "equipped" with a good book and maybe even a nice pair of sunglasses. montgomeryfamily Posted July 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2004 We made the same request when we were on the Splendour in a JS and were also turned down. Steward claimed that housekeeper said that he couldn't bring another lounger. I employed self-help that night. Room Steward never said a word about how the extra lounger "magically appeared". I left it there after the week was over--don't know if the steward left it on the balcony or removed it at that time. I highly recommend the late night time period for "requisitioning", but suggest going to the deck above the pool deck as it is much quieter with less traffic and also has loungers closer to the elevator. :)
Family of 14 Posted July 12, 2004 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2004 We have an aft on the Mariner. How many loungers are suppose to be on the balcony?

pcbeck Posted July 12, 2004 #11 Share Posted July 12, 2004 We just returned from the Navigator and we had three loungers on our balcony in addition to the two chairs and small round table. I would ask the steward if you wanted more.
chriscamp Posted July 12, 2004 #12 Share Posted July 12, 2004 We are booked on the VOS 1/15/05 in the royal family suite. Does anyone know how many lounge chairs we can expect?

suekay Posted July 14, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted July 14, 2004 Many thanks for all your suggestions. We'll start by requesting one from the steward, but may need to do a little "relocating of resources" (with the bonus of saving the $$$ we would have given to the steward)
