best resort for the day

I am not aware of any resorts that have day passes in the USVI. Sugar Bay may have one, but not for any pampering. Caneel Bay on St John will serve you lunch, but you can not use chairs etc. and only have use of the beach in front of the restaurant, you can not walk the property (guards)to the other beaches.. The Ritz on St Thomas will serve you lunch, but likewise no use of pool, chairs etc. : the beach at the Ritz is not the best, but the views are nice. All the resorts do check room keys etc.and generally know who is registered as a guest. Come and stay a week!
