Turkish Cruise Line 1970's ?

Recommended Posts

As a young boy I lived in Izmir Turkey from 1970-1972. One of my fondest memories was watching the ships come and go in Izmir Harbor. There was at the time a line of Turkish flagged cruise ships which sailed the Mediterranean , the Aegean and the Black Sea. The ships were black, white and yellow with some red trim on the stack.

Does any one know what that line was called or what happened to them?

Thanks

The company is called Turkish Maritime Lines. It's the state-owned company and still has many big ferries which operate in Turkish domestic traffic and also from Italy to Turkey.

Currently I have not been able to locate any web pages with photos or information of their old ships, but most (if not all) of them have been scrapped by now.
