kadypatrick Posted August 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2006 We are planning to take the Carnival Miracle Western Caribbean cruise this spring and while initially made our reservations for specific cabins, we are considering changing our cabin selection to an interior "IS" cabin in order to save $600. This is a guaranteed cabin, but one that will not be assigned to shortly before the cruise date. It is a group of 4 rooms to be booked...are we delusional to think we will get 4 rooms together AND on/in the same deck and good location? Has anyone booked these provisional type rooms and does it usually work that you get a decent cabin, an upgraded cabin, or are you in the worst place possible? Thanks! serene56 Posted August 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2006 if being together is important than the $600 savings is not worth the money. You are taking a huge chance of being seperated. Also staying together your chance of being upgraded higher gets rather diminished. We took a guarantee and the kids were on the Riveria deck and we were on the Upper deck. good thing they were older. another time we booked guarantee with 8 cabins and we were all on the same deck jsut all over the place. Not a big deal because we would just meet up for dinner and shows later. if NOT being together is important then take the guarantee. and state that you dont care if you are together to get a better upgrade. ALL inside cabins are the same. the only difference is the deck--which the higher you go the more it costs. You could get an oceanview cabin.. depends on when you are sailing-- spring break cruises will tend to sell out quickly.
