Jewel 8086 vs 8088

We're trying to decide between Jewell 8086 and 8088. There will be three people (one our 18 year old son). I think 8086 will get more sun and is wider at the end, just not as deep as 8088? Also, will the sofa bed be too small for an 18 year old? If anyone has pictures - that would also be great.

We were in cabin 8086 on the Jewel last year. our son was 12 and found the sofa bed comfortable but small. The balcony is great. Only negative not as private, you have about the same amount of privacy as the regular size balconies its when you get out into the angled part that you can see into other peoples balconies and they can see you. When we had breakfast on the balcony we just stayed back behind the curve and it was fine. We chose 8088 for our 2007 alaska cruise on the radiance. How ever if 8088 was already gone I would jump at 8086. The size up the balcony with 3 people sailing makes up for what you loose in privacy.

We have not sailed in 8088 yet so I dont know about the sun, we are not sailing in that cabin until 2007.

We had 8088 on the Serenade and the Radiance. The Jewel should be the same. 8088 had the pullman bed in the ceiling. It did not have a sofa bed. The balcony was huge. It is completely covered on the top and has a solid wall on the left side.
