life vest rental

We have our own snorkel equipment which we always bring but I feel more secure with a life vest.Is it possible to rent a vest on the ship before we arrive in a port if we are not taking a ship shore excursion? We will be on the Dawn......Joan:cool:

Yes...we always take our own gear and I always rent/borrow a vest. Sometimes they charge us for it, sometimes they give it for free...but they always have one available no matter where we've been!

Can this be done BEFORE you disembark at the port?.....Joan

ps thank you for the response. The port I,m thinking about is St. Thomas, we want to "head for St. John" befoe the rush and it would be nice to have the vests with us instead of waiting around at the beach.

We, too, feel better with vests when we snorkel. So we bought snorkel vests for ourselves. They are inflatable, so take up very little space, and we know the condition they are in, so feel safer. Just a thought!
