Just off the Legend: 8/16 - 8/24

Just got off the Legend today after 8 glorious days. Reality stinks! Where's my icecream.

 

Will post a review tomorrow...but for now: Wow what a great time!!!! Had a blast. Got together with Cruise Critic buddies and many other new friends. Weather was great, except for a little rain yesterday and the first sea day. Ports were awesome! Service outstanding...

 

Only disappointment was no piano player in Billy's Piano Bar...not once during the cruise.

 

Arrived early in San Juan - seems standard...

 

Anyway, no one is serving me dinner so I best fix something for myself!!!!

 

Planning next year's cruise already!

I was disappointed about nobody being in the Billy's piano bar.

 

Cruise Director was Trevor and I hardly saw him during the cruise. Who is the next cruise director?

 

My next family cruise will probably be the "fall foliage" cruise next September from New York.

Snow and I and a few others met on board, and that was fun. Billie's bar not being open was a disappointment. The supper club exceeded my wildest expectations. I'll be posting my review in the Disabled Cruisers section. I have quite alot to say. Some good, some bad. I enjoyed the company of the new friends we met. Hey Sue, that was a great drink. How r the dogs?

How was the smoking on this ship? I went on the Victory and smokers were smoking in non smoking sections the whole cruise.

The casino had a lot of smokers. Also, the lido deck had a few smokers, but not too bad. I didn't really notice too many smokers in non-smoking areas.

The smoking was horrible. Better not book this ship!;)

I can't wait to read all of your reviews!! I just booked the Legend for a Western sailing Thanksgiving week.

 

I would be VERY SAD if there were no one in the Paino Bar!!! This is always a highlight of my cruise and a place I usually go to every night! I am sorry to hear that this happened for you all! Do you know why???? There have been some recent reviews about this same problem on the Glory recently.

 

May I make a suggestion (and....a request...;) ) - would you mind copying and posting your reviews to a thread on this board?? The Review section seems to have at the very least a lag time of a month (often longer) before reviews submitted get posted there.

Yes, the smoking is HORRIBLE on Carnival. They also play a lot of broken records. Please try another line, like NCL.

I can't wait to read your reviews and see the photos myself. My docs arrived yesterday and I'm getting exited. All of you return cruises, It looks like THE Carnival Legend is missing a deck. From the Carnival broshure, it just missing a deck if you compare it to the other ships.:confused:

Billy's Bar was never opened. I never saw anyone inside.

 

This was Trevor's last sailing before leaving the Legend. He was not that visible, but my DH and I don't really care about the cruise director.

 

Hey Shirl! the puppies are fine, very happy to see their parents! How's the bruise doing?

 

 

I hate smoke and only really noticed smokers in the casino. Not really a problem for me anywhere else.

I hope they reopen the piano bar. I emailed the carnival entertainment department. I will post their response in a new thread once i receive it. I look forward to reading all of your reviews.

Trevor is leaving the Legend? Is he going to another ship? I didn't see him anywheres during our cruise this past June,but I thought he was pretty funny.

 

I can't wait to hear what happened to Billy's it was open when we were there. I can't remember the gal that played,but she was good.

Trevor told us that he was getting off in NY and I believe going on vacation. I don't think that he'll be returning to the Legend. The dancers and other staff were undergoing a change over during the cruise. Some new dancers, musicians came on in San Juan. Didn't really have any negative effects that I noticed.
