Rafaella Posted August 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Thinking ... What do they mean by 15% of gratuity added to your drink... Is it a tip to the bartender /waiter or is it an additional 15% of the $drink to your check + you pay an extra tip? I hate to sound stupid - this is my "first " drinking cruise smile. Please, explain... THANK YOU!!!
AuntieBon Posted August 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2006 The 15% is added to your receipt automatically at the bar. You can of course tip extra but you have to tip at least that much. I've never heard of anyone asking for this charge to be removed and not sure if you could if you wanted.
hotspur Posted August 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Is it a tip to the bartender /waiter or is it an additional 15% of the $drink to your check + you pay an extra tip? It is a tip to the bar staff. There is no need to "pay an extra tip." Unless, of course, you believe something additional is deserved for some kind of special service. Just like the $10/day that will be added to your on-board charges as a gratuity for the dining staff, housekeeping staff, etc., is all that is necessary, unless you feel a need for something additional. Since you already tipped 15% you can add more should you want but not necessary
