Timethief Posted August 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Taking the Westerdam next March and would appreciate any recommendations on excursions on Grand Turk, Tortola, St Maarten and Half Moon Cay. Thanks. Morgan Hi Morgan! If you are not adverse to doing an excursion that is not ship sponsored, you might want to try the Lord Sheffield. It looks interesting, and we are planning on doing it in October while on the Noordam. If you are stopping in St Thomas, as we are in October, you might want to look at the sailing yacht Winifred. What I like about her is the is how friendly and accomodating Sharon, her captain, is about emailling information and ideas to you, as well as the fact that she only takes 6 passengers out. The day we are sailing her, there will be 5 cruise liners in port! It will be great to be on a yacht all by ourselves (there are 4 in our group)! You might also want to post your questions to the boards on each of the islands you stop at. There is a wealth of information specific to the island, but not specific to the cruise line. That is how I found both of the excursions we will be doing in October. Have a great cruise in March! Keep Smiling!!!:D
JimVrhovac Posted August 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2006 St Maarteen: America's cup regatta. Passangers man the boats positions (according to your abilities). They are very concious of disabilities. Made Ruth a Timer as she has a bad back. Two yacts race. These are Retired America's cup 12 meter yachts. Have done it twice and would do it again in a heartbeat. Half Moon Cay: Have done the Parasailing a great experience. Have done the deepseas fishing - go for barracuda. Was a lot of fun and worth the money. That's all I can help you wih Morgan. Have a great cruise Jim & Ruth
