Outer Mole Pier Question

Since our ship, the Fascination will be arriving at the Outer Mole, should we book a cheap shore excursion, like Ripley's Believe It Or Not, so that we can get off the ship with the other folks that have booked shore excursions? We are only going to be in Key West from 7:30AM to 2:00PM. That doesn't give us a lot of time if we have to be "land tendered" from the Outer Mole. Need your advice badly!!

Thanks alot,

We had a long wait to board the trams in January about 45 minutes. It works well and is very organized, just alot of people getting off at once,

We have booked early tours on islands you have to tender to and this has worked. We always were one of the first ones off. Getting back to the ship was no problem the trams run frequently and we did not have to wait at all.

We took the Fascination to KW and it dosen't take too long to get the tram to town, but I really like Ripley's so maybe that would be a good excursion.

I actually got seasick on Duval street inside Ripleys during their hurricane demonstration.

That must really make you want to take the tour , Huh?

we also were on the fascination in june 06:) , we had no problem getting off, just make sure you go down as soon as they recommend you to.

It was so easy, don't forget your drivers license and your ship/shore card, as you need these to get back on board, because you are going through a naval access area. They will check on way back to ship. The tram ride to mallory square was a treat, they actually give you a mini tour, the tram driver talks the whole way with key west facts, very interesting. I prefer getting that little extra tour. The trams back were also uncrowded and waiting for you, friendly and relaxing ride.

Do a tour of some kind while on this island. Alot of cruisers I feel just walk around, where thats a great thing to do. There are so many places to see, (Little Whitehouse, Hemmingways House, Ripleys, Butterfly Museum, Pirate Museum, all fun) We were adventerious and booked on our own a 2 hour tour around island on jetski through the Galleon Marina, right off mallory square. We had the best time. Go to their website, if your interested, give them your name, make a reservation, no credit card needed, they only ask for a courtesy call if you won't be able to make it. The jet ski tour was one of our favorite things we've done in key west.

You have a great trip, this island is for everyone and islanders are so friendly. Happy sailing.............:D
