Charge for Indoor Pool

if you disagree with emotion then it is an argument not a "debate" as he calls it.

I call disagreeing with emotion "passion" and "feelings." They can't always be controlled.

Many people who are "passive aggressive" are more argumentative, but disguise it with seemingly controlled emotion. They are stealth combatants.

This is quickly becoming a philisophical debate...

It’s not the reduction of services that’s dishonest, but subtle changes amounting to a lot while maintaining the illusion that things are the same or omission of changes is. Take for example last year we cruised on the Dawn and 3 times prior; we enjoyed the desert station during lunch (my wife’s favorite) garden café, now according to some postings that’s no longer available. Is she getting the same value? This is not advertised anywhere and if not for the boards we would not know and the same goes for any other exclusion that takes place. We booked the cruise paying more than we did on the previous one’s but will not get the same service. A package displays its contents you can see it’s less. But without these boards we would have no Idea of what has been eliminated from our previous experience. I will be on the Dawn this Saturday and can’t wait to be there but I am sure some of my time will be spent looking around to see what else has changed. I realize this is not exclusive to NCL and NCL remains to be my favorite line but I think loyalty should be rewarded but they are taking away from that to. Latitudes is not what it used to be.
I do understand what you are saying, but this is not just over cruise lines but everything. You say latitude isn't what it once was: agreed; the reason, there are so many latitude members now it they had to go with the level based program. I miss the 20% discount on drinks and yet I realize how much it would cost them with over 1/2 the ship being latitude. Celebrity's program is even worse.

Of course many changes don't agree with us; we think we are getting screwed but it still comes back to dollars and sense. I miss some of what we got on our first cruise 25 years ago. It was a cut rate line, now long gone and yet the food and service was so much better than today's standard regardless of cruise line we sail. I do need to mention they didn't have 10 restaurants, Las Vegas style entertainment, glitzy ships, balconies, etc. We give us some things for other things. We will be cruising HAL in November. One thing I was really excited was nightly appitizers while enjoying a drink before dinner: no more, this has stopped. Am I a little disappointed yes, do I think I am getting less for my money? No. Did HAL announce on their website or anywhere else they were changing the policy? I don't think so. They also have added a 3% charge if you get money from the casino and put it on your room account, that too is not posted anywhere and is relatively new. Again, I am glad I learned these things before sailing but little things do not make a big difference. NMNita

I don't expect every change to be noted before every sailing. But I did think that a website with such a widely read review as this one has specifically mentions the indoor pool... ? I just guess I would have thought some introductory lower amount than $15 per day or some announcement or something? But, obviously it would get really burdensome with every change to every cruise and that would get silly.

However, as to the price staying the same and packages offering less (on food - I know OT) - If the packaging remains the same and there is actually less food in the identical package to the extent that it is misleading - that can actually be illegal. Very difficult to win and only in limited circumstances, but one of the ketchup companies got caught and was sued over this.
